Young people in particular know too little about Long Covid. We are raising awareness by letting millions of gamers worldwide experience the symptoms in their favourite game.
Over 65 million people worldwide are living with Long Covid. Yet, most know very little about the illness, especially young people and even those who are affected. The patient network Long COVID Europe has made it their mission to raise awareness about the disease. But how do you reach a younger audience that is less interested in health topics?
Experience it in the games that you love:
Long COVID Mode
We met young people where they are: in the gaming world. We developed the Long COVID Mode in popular games like Elden Ring, Minecraft, and The Witcher 3: where gaming characters experienced Long COVID symptoms such as low stamina, forgetfulness, or sluggishness. This was done with the help of “mods” or gaming modifications which got players to experience firsthand what living with the condition feels like.
